  • Legal Practice & AI Diploma: 2–4 weeks processing for July intake.
  • UTM Integrated: Applications open March–June 2026. Results announced 15 July 2026.

APEL APEL (MQA) Programme
What is APEL?

APEL stands for Accreditation of Prior Experiential Learning. It is a government-recognised pathway in Malaysia that allows working adults to convert their work experience and non-formal learning into formal academic qualifications β€” without needing to return to full-time study.

There are three types: APEL.A (Access β€” gain entry to university), APEL.Q (Qualification β€” earn a degree/master's/PhD award), and APEL.C (Credit β€” transfer credits to reduce study time).

Who is eligible to apply for APEL?

APEL is suitable for people who:

  • Have work experience but lack formal academic qualifications
  • Want to advance to higher education without traditional entry requirements
  • Work in professional, technical, or industrial sectors
  • Have attended training courses, skill certificates, or industry workshops

Minimum age requirements: 19 (Certificate), 20 (Diploma), 21 (Bachelor's), 30 (Master's), 35 (PhD). Work experience requirements vary by level.

What qualifications can I get through APEL?

Do I need to sit for exams for APEL?

For most APEL pathways, you are assessed through a portfolio of evidence β€” documenting your work experience, skills, and knowledge β€” plus an interview. An examination may be required only in specific circumstances and at certain levels, as determined by the APEL centre and university.

How much does APEL cost?

Package fees vary by level:

  • Certificate (Tahap 3): RM18,000 – RM25,000
  • Diploma (Tahap 4): RM30,000 – RM45,000
  • Bachelor's Degree (Tahap 6): RM55,000 – RM75,000
  • Master's (Tahap 7): RM80,000 – RM125,000
  • PhD (Tahap 8): RM90,000 – RM150,000

All packages include APEL assessment fees, portfolio preparation, university application and enrolment fees. Instalment plans are available.

Which universities accept APEL applicants?

LEB LEB β€” UK Bachelor's Degree Pathway
What is the LEB programme?

LEB (London Examination Board) is a UK-recognised academic progression pathway designed for learners who don't have SPM or traditional school qualifications. It offers structured Level 4, 5, and 6 (Bachelor's) qualifications aligned with the UK Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF).

The final Bachelor's degree β€” BA (Hons) Business Management & Strategy β€” is awarded by the University of Gloucestershire, United Kingdom.

Who can apply for the LEB pathway?

The LEB pathway is designed for:

  • Students without SPM
  • Tahfiz graduates seeking academic progression
  • SKM Level 3 / TVET graduates
  • School leavers with alternative qualifications
  • Working adults seeking a second chance at higher education

Entry requirements: One of SKM Level 3, Tahfiz graduate (subject to assessment), TVET qualification, or relevant work experience. Functional English proficiency is required but IELTS is NOT compulsory for Level 4 & 5.

Is the UK degree from LEB recognised in Malaysia?

LEB qualifications are aligned with the UK Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF), ensuring international academic recognition. The final Bachelor's degree is awarded by the University of Gloucestershire, which is a recognised UK university. Students should verify with specific employers or postgraduate institutions if needed.

What is the total fee and duration for the LEB pathway?

For students without SPM:

  • Level 4 (UTM SPACE): RM16,000 β€” 1 year 8 months
  • Level 5 (LEB Higher Diploma): Β£300 β€” 4–6 months
  • Level 6 (UK Bachelor's): Β£18,000 β€” 1 year
  • Total: Β£21,300 + RM16,000

For SKM Level 3 holders (Fast Track):

  • Level 4 (LEB Extended Diploma): Β£1,000 β€” 6–12 months
  • Level 5 (LEB Higher Diploma): Β£1,000 β€” 6–12 months
  • Level 6 (UK Bachelor's): Β£18,000 β€” 1 year

What is the UTM Integrated Programme?

The UTM Integrated Programme is a structured academic pathway offered by Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) that allows students to complete a Diploma in China, then continue their Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Malaysia β€” all within approximately 6 years.

UTM is ranked among the Top 200 universities globally and Top 50 in Asia, with a strong focus on engineering, technology, computing, and management.

Who can apply for the UTM Integrated Programme?

  • Have completed Senior High School / Upper Secondary Education (min. 5 subjects including Mathematics)

  • Are medically fit and can pass a medical examination
